Purpose

First, this is a private blog written by me (Sandy Scott).  The purpose is to relate interesting records and information I find during my research, share some of the history that I find on my travels, and share tips and tricks I have found along the way. All advice is given in good faith and all opinions are mine.  If you have any specific questions please contact me using the contact form

Copyright

Everything you see on this website is copyrighted and was created by me unless stated otherwise. Please do not use content or photos or pictures without first asking my permission via the contact form.

Recommendations, PR and advertising

To date, I have not received any payment for referring to a particular product, brand or website.  Neither have I been asked to review, recommend or otherwise refer to any particular product, brand or website.  Any references to other products, brands or websites are my own opinion and I have not been paid for them.

At some point in the future I may accept forms of advertising, sponsorship, affiliate links, free products, services, travel, event tickets, or other forms of compensation. If this does happen, the content, advertising space or post (blog, social media etc.) will be clearly identified as paid or sponsored content.

If I am compensated for an opinion on a product, service, website etc the views and opinions expressed in the blog will still be my own.  Any endorsement of a product or service will be based entirely on my own expertise and experience (unless stated otherwise). You should always review a product or service based on your own unique set of circumstances.

Collecting and using your information

GDPR law requires websites that interact with the EU must be open about how they deal with your information.

This website (thescottsisters.co.uk) is a business website created using wordpress.  It does not allow comments or picture uploads. It uses Hubspot to provide a contact form. By using this form you are providing me with some of your personal contact data. This is solely for the purposes of contacting you in relation to your query and my services.  I will not sell on your data to anyone.  Your details will only be used by me for the purposes stated above.

Mailing List

I have a mailing list that is run using a newsletter distribution program called Hubspot. No one likes spam or being harassed needlessly by unending emails – even from great websites (like this) that I have signed up to.   I promise to only contact you via email about this website – new blog posts, content updates and the like.  I will not bombard you with unsolicited referrals and spam (no one likes spam!).

Typically my emails will only come out every 6 months when I do a blog post (because honestly…I simply have no time to write them more frequently).  If I do write more regularly in the future, at best emails will be no more frequent than weekly.

I will not sell your data to anyone.  Your details will only be used by me for the purposes stated above.

Contact details for those who have signed up to my mailing list are stored on the Hubspot database.  It is only accessible by me and is protected by password security.  I have deleted all previous contact databases prior to 2018 and GDPR law.  Hubspot allows the subscriber to unsubscribe easily at any time.  If you have any questions or problems please use the contact form and I will erase your data on request.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Cookies

This site uses cookies – small text files that are placed on your machine to help the site provide a better user experience. In general, cookies are used to retain user preferences, store information for things like shopping baskets and provide anonymised tracking data to third party applications like Google Analytics. As a rule, cookies will make your browsing experience better. However, you may prefer to disable cookies on this site and on others. The most effective way to do this is to disable cookies in your browser. I suggest consulting the Help section of your browser or taking a look at the About Cookies website (link from my cookie add-in) which offers guidance for all modern browsers.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics to understand my website interactions (where and when people may access my site).  This is anonymous data and I will not sell it on to third parties.
